Frequently asked questions
How are API requests counted?
Each successful call to /api/intent, /api/mutate, /api/mathml, /api/tts, or /api/transcribe counts as one request against your monthly quota. /api/normalize is always free and unmetered. Requests that return a 4xx or 5xx error are not counted. Quotas reset on the 1st of each month (UTC).
Can I try before paying?
Yes, the Free tier is always free with 1,000 requests/month. No credit card required. Upgrade any time when you need more capacity.
How do I get my API key?
After payment is confirmed we email you a secure reveal link. Click it to see your key once on the MathVoice site — copy it to a password manager immediately. The key is never stored in plain text anywhere, including in our database. Enterprise customers receive a dedicated onboarding session.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Log in to the billing portal link in your receipt email and cancel with one click. Your API key stays active until the end of the current billing period, then is automatically revoked.
Is there a refund policy?
Yes. If MathVoice doesn’t meet your needs, request a refund within 14 days of your first payment via the contact form. We refund the full subscription amount minus the payment processing fee charged by our payment processor (approximately 5% of the transaction). This is non-negotiable on our end — the processor keeps their cut regardless of the outcome.
Do you offer educational discounts?
Accredited educational institutions and non-profit disability organizations can request a 50% discount. Use the contact form with your institution name and a brief description of your use case.
